Kai Havertz has expressed his strong belief that Arsenal possesses the quality to compete for and win major trophies, while also hailing teammate David Raya as the best goalkeeper in the world.
The German international, who has been in superb form since the turn of the year, played a pivotal role in Arsenal’s crucial 3-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, April 6. The win kept the Gunners firmly in the Premier League title race.
Havertz opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, calmly slotting home after being played through by Gabriel Jesus. Bukayo Saka doubled the lead from the penalty spot just seven minutes later, before Leandro Trossard sealed the three points with a fine finish in the 86th minute.
Speaking after the match, Havertz was full of confidence about the team’s prospects. “We have a great squad, a great manager, and everything you need to win big titles,” he stated. “We are competing in the Premier League and the Champions League, and we believe we can go all the way.”
The 24-year-old also took a moment to praise goalkeeper David Raya, who kept a clean sheet against Brighton. “For me, he is the best goalkeeper in the world right now,” Havertz declared. “He gives us so much confidence with the way he plays, both with his hands and his feet. He is incredible.”
Arsenal’s victory moved them back to the top of the Premier League table, ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United. The North London side are also preparing for a Champions League quarter-final first leg against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, April 9.
With the season reaching its decisive phase, Havertz’s words underscore the growing belief within the Arsenal camp that this could be the year they end their long wait for the game’s biggest prizes.
