Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia Drawn in U17 AFCON Group

The draw for the 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations has placed hosts Morocco in a challenging Group A alongside North African rivals Egypt and Tunisia. The ceremony, held in Rabat on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, sets the stage for a highly competitive tournament on home soil.

Completing the first group is the winner of a qualifying play-off between Central African Republic and Chad, whose match is scheduled for May 17, 2024. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stages, with the tournament’s semi-finalists earning a coveted spot at the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.

Group B features Mali, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and the winner of the play-off between Niger and Togo. The final group, Group C, consists of Senegal, South Africa, Cameroon, and the victor of the tie between Congo and Zambia.

The tournament is scheduled to be held from April 5 to April 20, 2025, across four Moroccan cities: Rabat, Tangier, Casablanca, and Marrakech. This marks the second time Morocco will host the youth championship, having previously staged the event in 2013.
