Al Nassr has received a significant boost ahead of their upcoming Saudi Pro League match against Al Akhdoud, with three key players returning to the squad. The most notable returnees are the foreign duo of Anderson Talisca and Aymeric Laporte, alongside national team midfielder Abdulrahman Ghareeb.
The team resumed training at their camp in Al-Ahsa on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, following a short break. The session saw the full participation of Brazilian playmaker Talisca and Spanish defender Laporte, who have both recovered from their respective injuries that kept them out of recent matches.
Midfielder Abdulrahman Ghareeb also completed the full training session with his teammates, marking his return to full fitness. Their presence is a major relief for the coaching staff as the team prepares for the crucial fixture scheduled for Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Prince Hathloul Stadium.
However, the news was not all positive for Al Nassr. The club confirmed the continued absence of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, who is still recovering from an injury. Furthermore, the medical report revealed that defender Mohammed Al-Fatil will also miss the match due to injury, adding to the team’s defensive concerns.
This development means Al Nassr will be without their captain and primary attacking threat, Ronaldo, for a second consecutive match. The team will now rely heavily on the returning Talisca to provide creativity and goal-scoring impetus in the final third against Al Akhdoud.
