Manchester United explains special kit choice against Brentford

Manchester United have explained why they will wear a different kit for their upcoming Premier League clash against Brentford.

The Red Devils are set to take on the Bees at Old Trafford on Saturday, April 5, 2026, and will step out in a special edition shirt rather than their usual home colours.

According to the club, the decision comes as part of a long-planned initiative linked to a community partnership. The kit, which features a unique design, is being worn to raise awareness for a local charity campaign that United have been supporting throughout the 2025-26 season.

A club spokesperson confirmed that the change was not due to a kit clash with Brentford’s colours. Instead, it was a pre-arranged move to highlight the work of the charity, with all proceeds from shirt sales going directly to the cause.

Manager Ruben Amorim gave his full backing to the initiative, stating: “It is important for us to use our platform for good. The players are proud to wear this shirt and support something bigger than football.”

United will return to their traditional red home kit for their next fixture after the Brentford match.
