Cameroon coach admits Morocco strength after defeat

Cameroon head coach Marc Brys admitted Morocco’s superiority after his side’s defeat, insisting his players were made to pay for the quality and experience of the Atlas Lions.

Speaking after the match, Brys said Morocco controlled key moments and showed why they are among Africa’s strongest teams, pointing to the way they managed the game and limited Cameroon’s attacking threat.

They cut our wing,” Brys said, explaining that his team struggled to play with freedom as Morocco closed spaces quickly and broke up transitions before Cameroon could build momentum.

The Belgian coach also praised Morocco’s standout performer, saying he “takes his hat off to the number one player,” in recognition of the impact made at both ends of the pitch and the influence he had on the result.

Brys stressed that Cameroon tried to respond and compete, but acknowledged that Morocco’s edge in calmness and decision-making was decisive, especially when the match demanded discipline and patience.

He concluded by underlining that his team will take lessons from the defeat, noting that facing opponents of Morocco’s level exposes small details that can decide games at the highest level.
