Ivory Coast coach: Egypt always waste time, we could not stop it

Ivory Coast coach Emerse Fae criticized Egypt for what he described as repeated time-wasting, saying his team knew it was coming but still could not prevent it.

“Egypt always waste time,” Fae said after the match, adding: “Our knowledge of them was not enough to stop it.”

The coach did not go into further details, but his comments reflected his frustration with the flow of the game and how it was managed on the pitch.

Ivory Coast had prepared for Egypt’s style, Fae explained, yet he felt it did not help his players deal with the interruptions that, in his view, affected the rhythm.

Fae’s remarks came as he assessed his side’s performance and the key moments that shaped the contest, insisting that awareness alone was not enough to control what happened during the match.
