Tim Weah embraces us against the world mentality at Marseille

Tim Weah of Marseille gestures for silence after scoring, wearing the team's light blue and white kit, against a blurred stadium background.

Tim Weah says he has bought into an “us against the world” mindset at Marseille as he prepares for a new chapter in Ligue 1 alongside Mason Greenwood.

The USMNT forward has spoken about the early mood inside the squad, explaining that the group is pulling together as it looks to push back against outside noise and expectations. Weah made clear he is comfortable with that edge, describing it as a mentality that can help the team stay focused and united.

Weah is one of several notable additions as Marseille reshape their squad, with Greenwood also arriving at the club this summer. The pair are now part of a group aiming to set the tone quickly, both in training and once competitive games begin.

The 24-year-old, a regular for the United States, has already settled into the environment and believes the attitude within the dressing room can be a strength over the course of the season. He stressed that the focus is on the work being done inside the club rather than what is being said outside it.

Weah also pointed to the togetherness he has felt since joining, suggesting the bond in the squad has been clear from the start. With preseason underway, he and Marseille will look to turn that collective spirit into results when the new campaign begins.
