Wessam Abou Ali believes he can become MLS’ leading scorer and says he is ready to “dominate” now that he is back from injury with Columbus Crew.
The striker had shown flashes of what he can bring before getting hurt, offering a glimpse of his movement in the box and his ability to finish chances. That spell was cut short, but the club has now confirmed he is available again, and Abou Ali insists he is ready to make an immediate impact.
“Top scorer in MLS, without a doubt,” Abou Ali said, making his aim clear as he looks to kick on after his return.
Columbus will hope his confidence translates into goals as they push through the grind of the season, with Abou Ali set to add another attacking option to a side that expects to compete on multiple fronts.
After the stop-start beginning caused by injury, Abou Ali is now focused on staying fit, settling fully into his role, and turning those early flashes into consistent performances in front of goal.
