Senegal face two key absences for AFCON final vs Morocco

Referee issues a yellow card as Mohamed Salah (Egypt, number 10) protests near Senegalese players during a tense match moment.

Senegal will be without two influential players for the Africa Cup of Nations final against Morocco, in a blow ahead of the decisive clash.

The Senegalese side will miss midfielder Habib Diarra and defender Kalidou Coulibaly, after both were ruled out through suspension.

Gueye and Niakhaté will sit out the final due to an accumulation of yellow cards, meaning they are not available for selection in the match against the Atlas Lions.

Their absence forces Senegal into changes at the back and in midfield for a game expected to be played at high intensity, with the title on the line.

Morocco, for their part, go into the final aiming to take advantage of the situation as they chase continental glory.
