Mohamed Ramadan says he was dropped from AFCON gala

Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan has said he was removed from performing at the AFCON gala because he is Egyptian.

Speaking in a video, Ramadan stated that he had been lined up to sing at the ceremony linked to the Africa Cup of Nations, before being informed he was no longer part of the event.

“They excluded me from singing at the AFCON ceremony because I’m Egyptian,” Ramadan said.

He did not provide further official details about the decision, but insisted the reason given to him was related to his nationality.
