Niclas Fullkrug suffered a nightmare off the pitch in Milan after jewellery worth around €500,000 was stolen from his hotel room.
The West Ham loanee reported the incident to police after discovering the valuables had gone missing. The theft is understood to have taken place while Fullkrug was staying at a hotel in the Italian city.
Italian authorities have opened an investigation into the burglary as Fullkrug attempts to deal with the shock of the incident during his time away from London.
Fullkrug is spending the season on loan from West Ham, and the Germany forward has been in Milan as he continues his spell abroad.
The player’s representatives have not issued any public statement, with the case now in the hands of investigators.
