Quinten Timber has launched a fierce attack on Feyenoord head coach Robin van Persie, accusing the club legend of failing to “protect” his players and revealing he wants to leave the Rotterdam side.
In a remarkable outburst, Timber made it clear he was unhappy with how Van Persie has handled the group, insisting the manager has not stood up for the squad when it mattered. The midfielder also demanded that any criticism be delivered directly, saying: “Say that to my face!”
Timber’s comments included a direct claim that he is seeking a transfer, with the Dutchman indicating he does not see his future at Feyenoord under the current set-up.
The situation now leaves Feyenoord facing an unexpected internal storm, with Timber publicly challenging Van Persie’s approach and putting his intentions in the open as he pushes for a move away.
