Former Morocco international Mohamed “Chibo” Chebou has fired back at those who took pleasure in the Atlas Lions’ defeat, saying the national team has become an “annoying mirror” for those who have failed.

He underlined that losing a match does not erase what Morocco have built in recent years, insisting that the Atlas Lions have reached a level that makes every slip-up a chance for detractors to attack, instead of looking at the bigger picture.
Chibo added that the national team’s progress has turned it into a reference point, and that is exactly why it bothers some people: it reflects the gap between ambition and failure.
His comments come in the wake of Morocco’s latest loss, with Chibo calling for calm, unity and continued backing for the players and staff, rather than turning one result into an excuse to tear down everything achieved.
