Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba were the Manchester United stars he looked up to most as a kid, saying their “no-care attitude” made them stand out.
Rogers explained that, growing up, he was drawn to the confidence and freedom in the way the pair played, and that they left a real impression on him during their time at Old Trafford.
Speaking about what made them different, Rogers said: “No one had ever seen it before.”
The 21-year-old’s comments highlight how Ronaldo and Pogba shaped his early football inspiration, with Rogers pointing to the personality they showed on the pitch as much as their ability.
