The 2025-26 Championship play-offs will decide the final team to be promoted to the Premier League, with four clubs set to battle it out for the last place in the top flight.

What has been revealed is the full play-off schedule for 2026, including the dates for both semi-final legs and the Wembley final.

The play-offs involve the sides that finish from third to sixth in the regular Championship table. The team in third plays sixth, while fourth meets fifth, across two legs. The winners then progress to the final at Wembley Stadium, with promotion on the line.

The first legs of the semi-finals will be played on 8 and 9 May 2026, with the return legs on 11 and 12 May 2026. The Championship play-off final will take place on Saturday, 16 May 2026 at Wembley.

The exact kick-off times and which teams will be involved will be confirmed once the final Championship positions are decided. The EFL will also confirm the final fixture details after the regular season ends.

With automatic promotion places going to the top two in the table, the play-offs remain the last route into the Premier League for the clubs just outside those spots, and they often provide the most dramatic finish to the English season.
