More than a week after Senegal were crowned Africa Cup of Nations champions, both the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA have still not ratified the title.
According to the information revealed, the delay is linked to the case filed by Egypt regarding the final.
Egypt had submitted an official complaint to CAF, objecting to what it described as refereeing mistakes during the AFCON final between Egypt and Senegal.
The same report said that CAF’s Disciplinary Committee is waiting for FIFA’s official position before issuing a final decision on the complaint.
Senegal won the final after a 0-0 draw, claiming the trophy on penalties.
