Former Senegal international El Hadji Diouf has warned that accusing Morocco of “buying referees” is a dangerous matter, stressing that such claims cannot be made lightly without clear proof.
Diouf said the issue goes beyond football discussion and becomes a direct attack on integrity, adding that throwing accusations of this kind harms the image of the game and creates unnecessary tension.
He underlined that refereeing decisions can always be debated, but turning that debate into claims of corruption is a serious step that must be backed by evidence, not emotion.
Diouf’s remarks come amid renewed arguments around Morocco and refereeing, and he insisted that respect for institutions and officials must remain a priority while any disputes are handled through the right channels.
