Oliver Glasner insisted he remains committed to Crystal Palace after what he described as “sunshine after a thunderstorm”, days on from an explosive outburst sparked by Marc Guehi’s sale and the club’s announcement over his own future.

Glasner had been left furious following the confirmed departure of England defender Guehi, with Palace also making public an exit announcement regarding the manager.

That combination lit the fuse behind a tense spell at Selhurst Park, with Glasner’s frustration boiling over in the immediate aftermath as he made his feelings clear.

However, the Palace boss struck a far more positive tone afterwards, putting on a smile as he sought to steady the mood around the club. “Sunshine after a thunderstorm,” Glasner said.

He also made clear he is still focused on the job in south London, insisting his commitment to Palace has not changed despite the upheaval caused by the Guehi sale and the noise around his own position.

Glasner’s comments came as Palace attempted to move on from a turbulent period, with attention now turning back to the football and the work ahead following major changes behind the scenes.
