French Football Federation president Philippe Diallo has given his assessment of Morocco’s preparations to host the Africa Cup of Nations, describing the organisation as impressive despite one “moment of total chaos” on arrival.

Speaking about his recent trip to Morocco, Diallo said the tournament is being prepared to a high standard, pointing to the scale of work being done around stadiums and infrastructure ahead of AFCON.

But he also revealed that the visit began in difficult circumstances. Diallo said there was a period of heavy disorder when delegations arrived, with confusion and crowding creating what he called a chaotic scene before things settled down.

Despite that, the French FA president stressed that the overall picture remains positive. He noted that Morocco has the experience and the facilities to stage a major competition, and that the general organisation he witnessed was reassuring.

Diallo’s comments come as Morocco continues final preparations for AFCON, with the country aiming to deliver a smooth tournament after big investments in venues and transport.
