The Moroccan Lawyers Club has filed an international sports legal complaint against the president of the Senegalese Football Federation, accusing him of “defamation”.

In its move, the club said it decided to bring the case before the relevant international sports judiciary bodies, arguing that remarks attributed to the Senegal FA chief harmed the reputation of Moroccan football and its institutions.

The complaint comes amid heightened tension in African football, with the Moroccan side insisting that the issue is no longer a matter of sporting debate but one that has crossed into public slander.

The club stressed that it is seeking to defend Morocco’s image through legal channels, and that the file has been prepared in line with international procedures in sports disputes.

It added that the legal steps aim to hold those responsible to account and to set a clear precedent against what it described as attempts to undermine Moroccan football through “defamatory statements”.
