Wayne Rooney has revealed he ended up watching his son Kai play at Old Trafford while wearing pyjamas after a last-minute wardrobe mishap.
The Manchester United and England legend was at the stadium for a special occasion for 16-year-old Kai, who featured in a match at United’s home ground.
Rooney explained that he had planned to change before heading out, but things did not go as expected. The former striker said he realised too late that he was not dressed properly and had to take his seat still wearing what he had on at home.
It left Rooney watching from the stands in pyjamas as Kai played at Old Trafford, turning what should have been a straightforward trip into an amusing story.
Despite the embarrassing mix-up, Rooney made sure he was there for his son’s big moment, and he admitted the situation gave him something to laugh about afterwards.
