Alan Shearer blasts arrogant Ruben Amorim at Man Utd

Alan Shearer has hit out at Ruben Amorim after branding the Sporting CP coach “arrogant” during Manchester United’s recent upturn in form under Michael Carrick.

United have shown an instant response since Carrick stepped into the dugout, steadying the side in the immediate aftermath of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure. The former midfielder has overseen an improved run of results that has eased pressure around Old Trafford and lifted the mood inside the squad.

As that revival has gathered pace, Shearer has questioned the way Amorim has spoken about the possibility of taking over at United. The former Newcastle and England striker said the situation was “absolutely crazy” and criticised the Portuguese coach’s tone, calling it “arrogant”.

Shearer’s comments come after it was revealed that Amorim had been discussed in connection with the United job, with attention turning to the Sporting boss while the Premier League club searched for stability.

With Carrick delivering an immediate bounce, the spotlight has shifted back to the direction United take next. For now, Shearer believes the conversation around potential candidates has become a distraction, and he made it clear he was unimpressed with Amorim’s approach to the speculation.
