Hansi Flick criticises Barcelona over poor finishing at Elche

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick was left frustrated by his side’s finishing despite a comfortable win over Elche, insisting the scoreline should have been far bigger after a dominant display.

Barca beat Elche 3-0, but the performance came with a clear warning from Flick. His team generated over six expected goals (xG) in the match yet only found the net three times, something the German felt must improve.

“This is the bad thing!” Flick said, pointing to the missed chances that stopped Barcelona from turning their control into a heavier win.

Barcelona created chance after chance throughout the game and never looked in danger, but their lack of ruthlessness in front of goal stood out. Even with three goals scored, Flick made it clear he was not satisfied with the wastefulness and demanded a sharper edge.

The match ended with a 3-0 victory for Barcelona, but Flick’s message was blunt: producing that level of chances and failing to convert more is not acceptable. With bigger tests ahead, he wants his players to be more clinical when they dominate games as completely as they did at Elche.
