Former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger believes Morocco have the quality to become world champions in the future.
Wenger pointed to the progress Morocco have made in recent years and said the country is building something strong through talent development and better organisation. He thinks that with this path, Morocco can dream of winning the World Cup.
Morocco made history at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar by reaching the semi-finals, the best-ever result for an African team at the tournament. Their run showed, according to Wenger’s view, that Morocco are no longer outsiders on the world stage.
The Frenchman said Morocco’s rise is not a surprise, because the team combines discipline, fighting spirit and quality players. He also stressed that long-term work is needed, but he sees the potential for Morocco to reach the highest level.
With his prediction, Wenger underlined that Morocco’s achievements are part of a bigger development, and he believes the next step could be the biggest one of all: a World Cup title.
