Arteta told Eberechi Eze looks lost as Arsenal get title verdict

Mikel Arteta has been told that Eberechi Eze looks “lost” as Arsenal were given a fresh verdict on their Premier League title hopes.

The comments came as Arsenal continue to be linked with a move for Crystal Palace’s England midfielder, with Arteta understood to be keen on adding more creativity and goals to his squad.

However, former Premier League striker Troy Deeney questioned whether Eze would be the right fit at the Emirates, suggesting the 25-year-old could struggle with the demands placed on him in Arteta’s system.

“He looks lost,” Deeney said, offering a blunt assessment of Eze’s current form and hinting that a step up to a title-chasing side may expose him.

Deeney also delivered his view on Arsenal’s chances of ending their wait for a league crown, insisting they still have work to do if they are to finally get over the line in the Premier League.

Arsenal have pushed Manchester City close in recent seasons under Arteta, but they again fell short last term, and the judgment from Deeney was that the Gunners need the right additions this summer rather than simply adding names.

With Arsenal expected to be active in the transfer market, Eze’s situation will be watched closely, but the message from Deeney was clear: Arsenal must be careful, and the Palace playmaker may not be the answer.
