The well-known Tangier supporter and artist “Bebe Mel” has voiced his anger over the continued absence of Ittihad Tanger fans from their historic home ground, in a message that quickly spread among the club’s followers.

In a strongly worded post, Bebe Mel questioned how a city with Tangier’s football history can accept empty stands, insisting that the team’s identity was built in that stadium and with its supporters.

“Because we are not Senegal,” he wrote, using the phrase as a cry of frustration to underline what he sees as a painful difference in passion and commitment, and as a direct criticism of the reality around the club.

Bebe Mel also stressed that the atmosphere of the old stadium is part of the club’s heritage, and that playing without a strong crowd presence weakens the team and strips matchdays of their true meaning.

His message was seen by many as a wake-up call to Tangier’s supporters, urging them to return in large numbers and restore the spirit that once made the venue a feared arena for visiting sides.

The outburst reflects growing frustration among sections of the fanbase, with calls increasing for the stands to regain their voice and for the club to feel the backing that has long been considered a key part of its strength.
