Benjamin Sesko set for first Emirates Stadium visit
Benjamin Sesko is preparing for his first visit to the Emirates Stadium, with the RB Leipzig striker facing Arsenal in the Champions League.
Sesko is no stranger to Premier League interest. Arsenal tracked him as a potential signing before he chose to stay in the Red Bull system, moving from Red Bull Salzburg to Leipzig. The decision not only ended Arsenal’s pursuit, it also left Manchester United “stunned” at the time, with the striker turning down the chance to take his next step in England.
Now, the 21-year-old will get his first taste of Arsenal’s home ground in a major European night, as Leipzig travel to north London. Sesko arrives with a growing reputation as one of Europe’s most promising forwards, and with his name still linked to leading clubs following his earlier call to remain in the Bundesliga.
Arsenal, meanwhile, will be aiming to make home advantage count as they continue their Champions League campaign, with Mikel Arteta’s side looking to keep momentum at the Emirates.
For Sesko, it is a return to familiar territory in a different way: once considered a possible future Arsenal player, he will instead walk out as the opposition, with his earlier transfer decision still a talking point as he heads to north London for the first time.
