CAF president Patrice Motsepe has praised Morocco for what it has achieved in African football, but he also delivered a clear warning about the responsibilities that come with hosting major tournaments.
Motsepe pointed to Morocco’s rapid progress in recent years, highlighting the country’s work on infrastructure and organisation. He said Morocco has become an example on the continent, especially when it comes to stadiums, training facilities and the way football is being developed.
At the same time, the CAF boss made it clear that high standards will be demanded. He stressed that hosts must meet CAF requirements in full, from logistics and security to the condition of stadiums and overall planning. According to Motsepe, praise does not mean everything is finished, and Morocco must keep delivering.
The message from the CAF president was therefore two-sided: recognition for Morocco’s strong work, but also a reminder that CAF will keep a close eye on preparations and expects nothing less than top-level organisation.
