Roberto De Zerbi says Mason Greenwood has become “a bit more human” since joining Marseille, explaining that the forward has come through “difficult times” and is now showing a different side of himself.

Speaking about Greenwood’s adaptation in France, De Zerbi made it clear the change has been noticeable inside the club. He said the former Manchester United player is “a bit more human” now, suggesting his experiences have helped him grow as a person as well as a footballer.

De Zerbi also pointed to the challenges Greenwood has faced, describing them as “difficult times”, and indicated that the player is settling into life at Marseille with the support around him.

The Marseille coach’s comments come as Greenwood continues his spell in Ligue 1, with De Zerbi highlighting the importance of the player feeling comfortable and stable so he can focus on his football.
