A proposed mega swap involving Youssef En-Nesyri and N’Golo Kanté has collapsed, leaving Fenerbahçe furious over how the talks ended.
The deal was discussed as a direct exchange, but negotiations ultimately broke down and no agreement was reached. As a result, both players will stay with their current clubs for now.
Fenerbahçe are said to be particularly angry because the club felt the move was close, only for the plan to fall apart at a late stage. The breakdown means the Turkish side must now look at other options in the market.
En-Nesyri, who has been linked with a move away, was the name at the centre of the talks. Kanté, meanwhile, was also part of the discussions, but the intended swap never went through.
With the exchange off the table, the transfers remain unresolved and the situation has created frustration in Istanbul, where Fenerbahçe had hoped to complete the operation quickly.
