Fouzi Lekjaa has drawn up a new roadmap for national team coach Walid Regragui as Morocco steps up preparations for the next World Cup.
The main move revealed is the direction towards appointing a world-class technical director to work alongside the coach and reshape the federation’s technical project. The idea is to strengthen the sporting structure around the first team and ensure clearer planning in the build-up to the tournament.
At the same time, changes inside Regragui’s staff are now possible. A review of the current technical team could lead to a “filtering” process, with adjustments made before the World Cup if they are deemed necessary.
This new approach comes as the federation looks to tighten its organisation and raise performance standards, with the focus now on putting the right people in place well ahead of the competition.
