Egyptian broadcaster Ahmed Shobeir revealed details of Morocco’s recent stance against the Confederation of African Football (CAF), saying the move was backed by two decisions taken by Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
In comments carried by Shobeir, he said Lekjaa took two decisions linked to Morocco’s escalation with CAF, describing them as part of the “behind-the-scenes” steps that shaped Morocco’s response and opened the door for a stronger position in the dispute.
Shobeir added that the situation developed after a period of tension with CAF, with Morocco insisting on its position and moving forward with official measures to defend its rights in the file.
According to Shobeir, what happened reflects a clear shift in Morocco’s approach, as the federation leadership chose to apply pressure through formal channels rather than limiting the matter to media reactions.
The broadcaster did not present extra details beyond what he described as Lekjaa’s two decisions, but he stressed that the steps were decisive in Morocco’s “uprising” against CAF and the way the case has been handled in recent days.
