Senegal international Ismail Jakobs has accused Morocco of poisoning, days after the AFCON final between Morocco and Senegal.
Jakobs, who plays as a left-back, claimed he and other Senegal players were affected ahead of the decisive match. According to him, several members of the squad suffered stomach problems and felt unwell in the lead-up to the final.
He suggested that Morocco were responsible for what happened and described it as deliberate. Jakobs said the situation had an impact on Senegal’s preparations for the final against Morocco.
There has been no official confirmation that any poisoning took place, and no decision has been announced by the organisers in relation to the claim.
The allegations have sparked fresh debate around the final, with Jakobs insisting that Senegal did not face normal circumstances before the match.
