The Spanish Football Federation has officially unveiled the full fixture list for the 2025-2026 La Liga season. The schedule, released on Monday, maps out the entire campaign from the opening weekend in August through to the final matchday in May.
The season will kick off on the weekend of August 16-17, 2025. The first round of matches will see defending champions Real Madrid begin their title defense away at Real Betis. Their arch-rivals, Barcelona, will start their campaign with a home fixture against newly-promoted Racing Santander.
Other notable opening day fixtures include Atlético Madrid traveling to face Sevilla, while Athletic Club hosts Valencia in a classic encounter. The first Clásico of the season, the monumental clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona, is scheduled for Matchday 14, which falls on the weekend of November 22-23, 2025, at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The return fixture at Barcelona’s Estadi Olímpic is set for Matchday 35 on the weekend of April 25-26, 2026.
The Madrid derby between Real and Atlético will take place at the Metropolitano on Matchday 10 (weekend of October 25-26, 2025), with the reverse fixture at the Bernabéu slated for Matchday 29 (weekend of March 21-22, 2026). The season will conclude on Sunday, May 24, 2026, with all final matches kicking off simultaneously.
As is tradition, the schedule includes breaks for international windows and a winter hiatus. The league will pause after Matchday 18 for the Christmas period, resuming in early January 2026. The complete calendar is now available on La Liga’s official website and app for fans to plan their viewing.
