Liverpool are set to recall a defender from his loan spell as they prepare for the possibility of Andy Robertson leaving the club, with the Scotland international edging closer to a move to Tottenham.

Robertson’s future has become one of the key talking points of Liverpool’s summer, with Spurs pushing to land the left-back. With talks progressing, Liverpool are moving to protect themselves and are ready to bring back a defender currently out on loan to provide cover on the left side of their back line.

The recall would give Liverpool an immediate in-house option and reduce the need to rush into the market at short notice. It also reflects the growing expectation at Anfield that Robertson could be on his way out if Tottenham finalise an agreement.

While Liverpool continue to plan for the new campaign, the club’s approach makes clear they want to be prepared should Robertson’s departure be completed, with a recall seen as a practical step to ensure squad depth and stability.
