Manchester United are weighing up a move for Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni as they continue to shape their plans for next season.

United’s rebuild has already started to take form, but the club is still expected to be active once the transfer window opens. Central midfield remains a key area, and Tchouaméni has emerged as a player of interest as United look for more control and athleticism in the middle of the pitch.

The France international has been an important option at the Bernabéu since arriving from Monaco, featuring both as a holding midfielder and, at times, in defense when needed. Real Madrid’s squad is stacked with talent in the same positions, though, and competition for minutes remains fierce with Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde and Jude Bellingham all capable of playing centrally.

Any deal would be complicated. Real Madrid are not under pressure to sell, and the midfielder would likely command a significant fee. United would also need to persuade the player that a move to Old Trafford offers the right sporting path, particularly with European football still a major topic around the club.

Elsewhere, Christian Pulisic’s future has become a talking point again, with multiple Premier League sides monitoring his situation. The United States captain has looked revitalised in Italy and has enjoyed a productive spell since leaving Chelsea, becoming a regular contributor in attack and a key figure for his club.

Interest from England has not gone away, and teams are understood to be tracking him ahead of the summer. A return to the Premier League would be a major headline given his profile, but it is far from certain, with the winger settled and playing consistent minutes after a period of stop-start football in London.

Pulisic’s versatility remains one of his biggest strengths. He can play on either flank and has also operated in central areas, making him an attractive option for clubs looking to add speed and directness in the final third. The next steps will likely depend on whether an offer arrives that convinces his current side to negotiate.

For United, attention is now turning to how they can back their manager with the right additions. The club’s recruitment focus is expected to mix proven top-level quality with players who can grow into leading roles. Tchouaméni clearly fits the first category, but turning interest into a deal would require a major push.

As the summer approaches, the market is already beginning to take shape. United’s midfield plans and the Premier League’s renewed chase for Pulisic are two storylines to watch closely in the weeks ahead.
