Marseille owner, American billionaire Frank McCourt has decided to keep Mehdi Benatia in his position and to grant him broader powers, while reducing the responsibilities of club president Pablo Longoria.

The move confirms McCourt’s confidence in Benatia’s work and reflects a new balance inside the club’s management structure, with Benatia set to play a bigger role in key sporting decisions.

At the same time, Longoria’s influence will be scaled back as part of the reshuffle, marking a clear change at the top of the Ligue 1 side’s leadership.
