King Mohammed VI of Morocco said that “the bonds of African brotherhood will prevail” following what he described as the “AFCON fiasco.”
In remarks addressing the fallout from the controversial episode, the King stressed Morocco’s commitment to Africa and to strengthening relations built on solidarity and mutual respect.
He said the continent’s shared ties are deeper than temporary disputes, adding that cooperation and goodwill among African nations remain the foundation for moving forward.
The King’s message came in the wake of renewed debate around the Africa Cup of Nations and the tensions stirred by the incident, with Morocco reiterating that unity and fraternity across Africa must come first.
