Nigeria cruised into the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations after a commanding win over Mozambique.

The Super Eagles set the tone early and kept control of the match, pressing high and pushing Mozambique back for long spells. Their patience soon paid off as they opened the scoring, giving themselves a platform to dominate the tie.

Mozambique tried to respond with more direct play, but Nigeria stayed organised at the back and continued to create the clearer chances. Before the break, the Nigerians struck again to tighten their grip on the contest and go into half-time in full control.

After the restart, Nigeria maintained the same intensity and pace. They moved the ball quickly, attacked the wide areas and looked dangerous whenever they reached the final third. The pressure told once more as they added further goals, turning the game into a one-sided affair.

With the result beyond doubt, Nigeria managed the closing stages comfortably, limiting Mozambique’s attempts and seeing out the match without any major problems.

The victory sends Nigeria through to the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals, underlining their strength and momentum as the tournament moves into its decisive phase.
