Morocco’s stadium-building experience is set to play a role in Nigeria’s latest push to modernise its sports infrastructure, after Nigerian authorities turned to Moroccan expertise to support a nationwide upgrade.

The move comes as Nigeria looks to bring several venues up to higher standards, with a focus on improving facilities and meeting international requirements for hosting major competitions.

Officials involved say the plan will rely on Moroccan know-how in stadium development, drawing on the recent projects Morocco has delivered as part of its broader football and infrastructure strategy.

The cooperation is expected to cover technical support and guidance linked to renovation work, with Nigeria aiming to improve the quality of its stadiums for clubs, national teams and domestic events.

The decision reflects a growing trend of African countries working together on sporting projects, as federations and governments try to keep pace with the demands of modern football and increasing interest in hosting tournaments.
