In een interview bevestigde Taleb zijn persoonlijke standpunt met de woorden: \u201cIk ben tegen het kronen van Marokko als gastheer van de Afrika Cup van 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hij lichtte zijn positie toe door te verwijzen naar het aanstaande FIFA WK 2026, dat door de Verenigde Staten, Mexico en Canada gezamenlijk wordt georganiseerd. Taleb stelde dat Marokko, als deelnemer aan dat wereldtoernooi, zijn inspanningen en middelen daarop zou moeten richten. \u201cMijn persoonlijke mening is dat het land dat deelneemt aan het WK 2026 al zijn inspanningen zou moeten richten op de voorbereidingen daarvoor,\u201d verklaarde hij.<\/p>\n<p>Ondanks zijn persoonlijke visie erkende Taleb dat de uiteindelijke beslissing bij het CAF Uitvoerend Comit\u00e9 ligt.
