Aston Villa have been linked with a surprise move for a Real Madrid player after missing out on signing Conor Gallagher.

Unai Emery’s side had been looking at Gallagher as they explored ways to strengthen their midfield, but the England international is no longer an option for Villa. As a result, attention has now turned towards other targets, with a Madrid star emerging as a name being discussed.

The report reveals that Villa are considering a deal for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos. The Spaniard, who has previously played in the Premier League during a loan spell at Arsenal, is said to be on Villa’s radar as they continue their search for reinforcements.

Villa’s transfer plans have been shaped by the fact that Gallagher is heading elsewhere, forcing the club to reassess and move quickly in the market. Emery is looking to add quality and depth to his squad ahead of the new season, and a player with Ceballos’ experience at both La Liga and Premier League level would fit that profile.

At this stage, no official agreement has been confirmed, but the link underlines Villa’s intent to remain ambitious after qualifying for the Champions League and trying to build a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts.
