Real Madrid’s official television channel has launched a fierce attack on the refereeing body, claiming a “hidden hand” is manipulating La Liga to favor Barcelona.
The accusations follow a series of contentious decisions in recent matches. Real Madrid TV’s report specifically highlighted incidents from Barcelona’s 3-2 victory over Celta Vigo and their 1-0 win against Athletic Bilbao.
In the match against Celta, the channel pointed to a potential penalty for Celta when the score was 2-2, which was not awarded after a challenge by Barcelona’s Ronald Araújo. Moments later, Barcelona scored the winning goal. The report also questioned a possible handball by Araújo in the same game.
Regarding the Athletic Bilbao clash, the focus was on a possible foul by Barcelona’s Jules Koundé on Athletic’s Nico Williams inside the penalty area, which also went unpunished.
The report stated, “There is a hidden hand that is clearly directing the competition to benefit Barcelona.” It further alleged that the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) is “orchestrating a campaign” to influence the title race, suggesting a pattern of favorable decisions for Barcelona in key moments.
This public criticism from the club’s official media outlet marks a significant escalation in tensions, directly questioning the integrity of the competition’s officiating as the league season reaches its climax.
