A Senegal national team player has played down Morocco’s recent achievement, insisting that his country’s target is even bigger.
Speaking about Morocco’s historic run at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the player said: “Morocco’s achievement? We will win the World Cup.”
Morocco became the first African team to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup after a memorable campaign in Qatar, beating several top sides before their run ended in the last four.
Senegal, who won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2021 and returned to the World Cup as African champions, are aiming to build on their progress on the global stage and believe they have what it takes to go all the way in the future.
