The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to exclude the chairman of its disciplinary committee from the investigation into the incidents that followed the Africa Cup of Nations final, after it emerged that he holds Senegalese nationality.
The official has been removed from the file to avoid any conflict of interest, given Senegal’s involvement in the final and the sensitivity of the case.
CAF is continuing its probe through the relevant bodies, as it reviews the reports linked to what happened after the match, with decisions expected once the investigation is completed.
