Sergio Ramos transfer to Wrexham touted as an option

Wrexham have been urged to consider a sensational move for former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, with the veteran defender said to be “an option” for the Welsh club as they look to keep building under owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Ramos, a multiple-time Champions League winner and one of the most decorated players of his generation, is currently a free agent after leaving Sevilla. That has opened the door to talk of an unlikely switch to the EFL, with Wrexham’s rapid rise making them a club that can attract attention far beyond League Two.

Asked about the idea of the Spanish legend ending up at the Racecourse Ground, it was made clear the move should not be dismissed, with the simple message: “Why not Sergio Ramos?”

Wrexham have already shown an ambition to think big since Reynolds and McElhenney took charge, combining smart recruitment with a growing global profile. With promotion secured and momentum behind them, the club are being linked with bigger names as they prepare for the next step, and Ramos’ availability has only added fuel to the conversation.

Even so, any deal would be extraordinary given Ramos’ status and the level he has played at throughout his career. But with Wrexham continuing to push forward on and off the pitch, the suggestion is that a shock approach for the Real Madrid icon is not beyond the realms of possibility.
