Mohamed Salah has opened up about his future at Liverpool, expressing his desire for a fitting farewell when the time comes for him to leave the club.
The Egyptian superstar’s current contract at Anfield is set to expire in the summer of 2025. In a recent interview, Salah was asked about the possibility of a departure, to which he responded with a clear sentiment. “I hope to say goodbye to Liverpool in a dignified way when the time is right,” Salah stated, confirming his wish for a proper send-off from the fans and the club.
Salah’s comments come amidst ongoing speculation about his next move, with the forward now entering the final year of his deal. He has been a transformative figure for the Reds since his arrival from AS Roma in 2017, scoring 211 goals and providing 89 assists in 349 appearances across all competitions.
His trophy haul at Liverpool is equally impressive, having won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, the FA Cup, the League Cup (twice), and the UEFA Super Cup. He also claimed the Premier League Golden Boot on three occasions.
The 31-year-old emphasized that his immediate focus remains on achieving more success with the team. “My focus now is on winning more trophies with the club,” he added, underlining his commitment to the cause for the upcoming season.
With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, Salah also acknowledged that his future plans will become clearer as that tournament approaches. For now, Liverpool fans can expect their iconic number 11 to be fully dedicated to the new campaign under head coach Arne Slot.
