Yaisle: We closed Asia chapter, now focusing on league title

Al-Ahli head coach Matthias Yaisle has confirmed that his side have officially closed the chapter on their Asian campaign and will now shift their full focus to winning the Saudi Pro League title.

Speaking after his team’s final match in the AFC Champions League, Yaisle made it clear that the squad has already turned the page. “We have closed the Asia chapter,” he stated. “Now we will begin concentrating fully on the league title.”

The German coach acknowledged the disappointment of exiting the continental competition but stressed the importance of regrouping for the domestic run-in. Al-Ahli’s elimination from Asia came after a hard-fought campaign, but Yaisle insisted there would be no lingering effects.

“The players gave everything in Asia, but football moves fast. We have no time to dwell on what is behind us,” Yaisle added. “Our target now is clear: the Saudi league championship. That is where all our energy will go from this moment.”

Al-Ahli currently sit in a strong position in the league standings, and Yaisle believes the squad has the quality to push for the title. “We have a good group, a deep squad, and the right mentality. The focus is entirely on the domestic competition now,” he said.

The coach also revealed that the team’s preparation for the next league fixture has already begun. “We analyzed our Asian matches, learned the lessons, and now we move forward. The league is our priority, and we will fight for every point until the end of the season,” Yaisle concluded.
