Mohamed Salah has broken his silence on the speculation surrounding his future at Liverpool, responding directly to the growing rumors that he could leave the club in 2026.
The Egyptian forward, who has been a key figure in Liverpool’s recent successes, addressed the reports during a press conference on Tuesday. Salah made it clear that he remains fully focused on his current commitments with the Reds.
“I keep hearing stories about my departure, but I have not made any decision yet,” Salah said. “My only focus right now is on the team and achieving our goals this season. Everything else can wait.”
The 32-year-old’s current contract with Liverpool runs until the summer of 2026. Recent weeks have seen intense media speculation linking him with a move away from Anfield, with several European clubs reportedly monitoring the situation closely.
Salah’s response comes after a string of impressive performances that have once again made him the club’s top scorer this campaign. His goals have been crucial in keeping Liverpool competitive on multiple fronts.
When pressed further on whether he had held talks with the club’s management regarding an extension, Salah remained cautious. “There is always communication between me and the club. But now is not the time to discuss these matters publicly,” he added.
The forward, often described as the “Liverpool conqueror” for his ability to decide big matches, emphasized his love for the club and its supporters. “I have always given everything for this shirt. The fans know that. Whatever happens in the future, my respect for this club will never change,” he stated.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot also weighed in on the situation, expressing confidence that Salah would remain professional regardless of the ongoing rumors. “Mo is a top professional. He trains hard and plays hard. I have no concerns about his focus,” Slot said.
With the January transfer window now closed and the season entering its decisive phase, Salah’s immediate priority remains helping Liverpool push for silverware. Any decision on his long-term future is expected to be made after the current campaign concludes.
