Inter Milan secured the Serie A title in emphatic fashion on Sunday, defeating Parma 2-1 at the Stadio Ennio Tardini to mathematically seal the Scudetto with five matches to spare.
The Nerazzurri knew a win would confirm their championship triumph, and they delivered a composed performance to get the job done. The result moves Inter to 86 points, an unassailable lead at the top of the table.
Simone Inzaghi’s side took control early. Federico Dimarco opened the scoring in the 12th minute, curling a precise free-kick over the wall and into the top corner. The visitors doubled their lead just before the half-hour mark when Nicolò Barella slotted home from close range after a well-worked team move.
Parma pulled one back in the 68th minute through Ange-Yoan Bonny, who finished calmly after a defensive lapse from Inter. The hosts pushed for an equalizer in the closing stages, but Inter held firm to secure the result that confirmed their status as Italian champions.
The title is Inter’s 20th in club history, and the first since the 2023-24 season. The club now has two stars above its crest, matching the number of Scudetti won by city rivals AC Milan.
“This is a special moment for everyone at the club,” Inzaghi said after the match. “The players have been incredible all season. We knew we had to finish the job tonight, and we did.”
Inter’s dominance this campaign has been built on a rock-solid defense and clinical attacking play. The team has lost just one league match all season and boasts the best defensive record in Serie A.
Attention now turns to the final weeks of the season, with Inter aiming to finish the campaign unbeaten at home and secure a points tally that would rank among the highest in Serie A history.
